Back from the Big Apple!
We had a wonderful week and it was extremely fast paced! This is us in the airplane. We were still high on excitment.
Our first glimpse of the concrete jungle. If you have never been to NYC it is an amazing site for sure.
Can you tell we were in one of many arty areas?
I loved this sign. It was smack dab in the middle of the sidewalk.
There is some humor for us "out-of-towners.
I love the architecture! I was always stopping my friends so I could look up and snap!
We really did have to get serious and
search for food!
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City is the largest cathedral in the world (St. Peter's Basilica in Rome is larger, but it's not a cathedral). The first cornerstone of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine was laid in 1892. The difficult building site on the promontory at 112th Street was chosen in 1887 for its prominence and view. The original architects were George Heins and Christopher Grant Lafarge, who beat out 80 other competitors with a Romanesque-Byzantine design.
Well that was I first day. I am exhausted so I will continue later!

Looks like you had a great trip. Nice photos, too.
So wonderful to hear and see that you had such a fabulous trip Alice!! Gorgeous pics:) My hubby and I lived in NYC for a year in the mid 1990s when he worked for a trading bank. We saw so much, but there was still so much to experience - such an amazing city!! Happy to hear you had so much fun!! Wishing you a wonderful week ~ Tina xx

Wow it looks like you have seen some amazing things so far. I wish I had had a local to show me around when I visited New York... the whole experience was a little overwhelming- fun- but overwhelming. http://www.manhattanhotelsnewyork.com
Welcome back...glad you had fun!!
I love the photos. I've only been to new york once when I was 13 years old. Our church choir did a tour up there. We actually got to sing in St Johns. It was amazing. I wish I had better pictures of it. New York was a little scary to me... too many people.
